SUN INTERNATIONAL BRINGS THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS TO ORPHANS

Carnival City and Afrisun Trust honour the season for giving

Date: Monday, 3rd December 2012
Time: 8h00 to 15h00 (8am – 3pm)
Venue: Carnival City, Brakpan - Outside soccer field (at the back of the Carnival City property)

Please come and join us in witnessing the joy and excitement of approximately 700 children at the fourth annual Christmas party for underprivileged children.

This year Carnival City CSI and the Afrisun Trust have jointly pledged R130 000 each to bring the spirit of the season to life for youngsters aged six to 12 from orphanages in Ekurhuleni.  They will be treated to a day of non-stop entertainment at Carnival City on 3 December from 08h00 to 15h00.

The outdoor soccer field on the property will be transformed into a fantasy ‘water world’ complete with water slide, castles and boat rides.  The outdoor games and foam pit are also guaranteed to offer the children hours of excitement.

Other activities and attractions include face painting and the opportunity to meet and interact with visiting clowns.  Throughout the day each child will receive fresh fruit juices and waters courtesy of service provider Headline Leisure Management (HLM), and healthy snacks followed by a nutritious lunch, ice-creams and sweets at noon, prepared by Carnival City’s catering company Fedics.

In-house clinic Ikhambi Care will be on call to assist with any scrapes and cuts, and the children will be treated to surprise visits from celebrities throughout the morning.

Then, the highlight of the day will undoubtedly be the much anticipated early visit from Santa and Mrs Clause, appropriately laden with gifts galore.

WIN A CHANCE TO PERFORM ON CHRIS BROWN SUPPORTING BILL

CALLING LOCAL MUSICIANS AND ARTISTES - WIN A CHANCE TO PERFORM ON CHRIS BROWN SUPPORTING BILL

Following the success of last year’s supporting bill competition and to continue their support of South African musicians and the local music industry, Canoc Productions founder and Managing Director, Phala Letsoalo announced the Chris Brown Carpe Diem SA Tour supporting act competition. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for local musicians and bands to perform at one of the forthcoming Chris Brown concerts presented by Canoc Productions in association with Channel O, GagasiFM, YFM, GoodHope FM and Independent Newspapers.

Concerts will be staged at the Coca Cola Dome, Johannesburg on 15 December; People’s Park, Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban on 17 December or GrandWest, Cape Town on 19th or 20th December. “We encourage musicians to enter this unique competition which is also the perfect platform to showcase their talents.” says Letsoalo.

To stand a chance at being selected to perform at one of these concerts, artists need to create a profile via a Facebook based application then upload their content - video, songs and pictures and share it with their fans using social networks. Artists can only enter to perform at one venue. Fans would need to view artist profiles on the site and vote for the artist of their choice to perform at a particular concert. Each fan is entitled to one vote per artist, using their Facebook profile.  The more votes an artist accumulates the better a chance they stand to win to perform at their chosen concert venue.

The winners are chosen relative to the number of votes they acquire. The artist with the most votes in each city wins the honour of performing on the supporting bill act of a Chris Brown concert. As part of the terms and conditions of the competition the winning musicians are still subject to artist management approval.

The competition goes live from tomorrow, 22 November 2012 and closes on 10 December 2012.You could be performing on the very same stage where mega artist, Chris Brown played to thousands of South African fans.

For musicians, Chris Brown fans and music lovers, Canoc Productions is introducing the sensational Chris Brown Carpe Diem VIP Soundcheck Package a cost of R 3000 per person including a Golden Circle concert ticket, attendance at the VIP soundcheck (45 minutes before gates open), a Chris Brown Live souvenir photo programme book, a VIP laminate with matching lanyard, a Chris Brown exclusive back pack and  priority check-in plus first option to purchase merchandise before doors open. Vodacom 4U Rage Festival is here!

Vodacom 4U Rage Festivalis here!

Summer is officially here and with the end of exams it is time for fun, friends the most anticipated party, the Vodacom 4U Rage Festival.

That’s right, after months of build up and hype the biggest youth festival in South Africa is finally upon us and is promising to be the best yet. This is not easy to deliver upon considering that over 120 000 heads passed through event doors in 2011. However, festival organisers G&G Productions have pulled a full set of aces out their sleeves with no less than four top international DJ’s hitting the festival this year.

Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike (ranked #38 in the world) and Nervo (#46) are coming to 4U Rage Festival as part of their Double Vision Tour of South Africa. Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike are a DJ duo made up of Belgian brothers who have recently completed their “Smash the USA” club tour which saw consistently sold out events around the States. Australian born Nervo twin sisters collaborated with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike to create the Tomorrowland anthem for 2011 ‘The way we see the world’. For the full details of the exciting Double Vision Tour, check out www.doublevisiontour.co.za.

Part of the tour includes a tie in with the official launch party and unveiling of the name of the Stimorol Mega Mystery gum. As one can expect, prior to the big launch of the ‘Mega Mystery’ all details of the event are being kept a secret but for the fact that it will be happening at the DLI hall arena on the 3rd of December and that the DJ line up will include Nervo, 5FM’s Euphonik and Southern African touring DJ, Tomorrows Will.
Just to give one an idea of the scale of the festival, there are 55 top local acts signed exclusively to 4U Rage Festival, these include: Goldfish, Goodluck, Toya DeLazy, Roger Goode, DJ Fresh, Euphonik, Kyle Worde, Pascal and Pearce, Haezer, Royal K, Justin Miller, Nick Supply, Niskerone, G-Funk,Paul Bingham, Spindoctor, DJ Wags and SPHEctacular.

Daytime activity is just as important as the night, with 4U Rage Squads, powered by BlackBerry being a highlight of note. Driving around in highly branded vehicles, these squads scout the festival looking for the funkiest and most outstanding Rage goers who catch their eye in the spirit of the festival. They then reward them on the spot with awesome prizes such as brand new BlackBerry handsets and Contiki tour holidays to name but a few!

The best way to get involved is through a multi entry festival passport. These allow a Rage goer into all 4U Rage Festival events as well as having great discounts at various local partner stores. Steve Aoki
“I’m a time travelling, speed reading, fortune telling, machine gunning, gypsy loving, scuba diving, multi-tasking, poker playing fan of life. I like playing the odds. My beliefs are radical but I embrace the conservative. I love green tea and believe I was a fish. I love producing music and performing art. My biggest heroes are Bruce Lee and Malcolm X. Be like water by Any Means Necessary. I’m a perfectionist that hates perfection.

I am Pillowface and I live in the sky as much as I do on land. Absorb Life. Embrace your passion. Wield it and you will learn to love yourself.”- Steve Aoki
