Rock supergroup Kings of Chaos is set to electrify South Africa when they bring their unmatched energy and sound to the country on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 June at the GrandWest Grand Arena, and on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June at the Sun City Superbowl.

It was announced today, that Vocalist Sebastian Bach formally of Skid Row, who was originally included in the South African line-up, will be replaced by Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge on the South African tour.

Originally formed in 2012 as Matt Sorum’s Rock n Roll All Stars, the group’s name was recently changed to Kings of Chaos. While the band has a core group of members such as Matt Sorum, Gilby Clarke and Duff McKagan, all originally from Guns n Roses, and Joe Elliott from Def Leppard, they are regularly joined by guest musicians from other rock bands.

Eight original musicians from bands such as Guns n Roses, Def Leppard, Velvet Revolver, The Cult, Deep Purple, Collective Soul and now Alter Bridge, will perform together as Kings of Chaos in South Africa, with renowned guitarist Slash performing with the group for the very first time.

Myles Kennedy was, for the longest time, music's best kept secret.  Aside from being one of the best vocalists in music, he is also an exceptionally talented guitarist and songwriter.  He is best known for his work in the acclaimed rock band Alter Bridge, as well as being the lead vocalist in legendary guitarist Slash's solo project, ‘Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators’.  When Guns n Roses were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, Myles Kennedy was chosen as the vocalist to front the band in the live performance on the night. He is currently at work on the fourth upcoming and untitled Alter Bridge album, as well as his first ever solo album.

Slash is considered one of the greatest rock guitar players of all time and his mastery of the guitar is evidenced in his signature riffs on Guns n Roses’ rock anthems like Sweet Child of Mine and Welcome to the Jungle. In addition to being an original member of Guns n Roses he also successfully formed and performed in supergroup Velvet Revolver, and currently tours the world with his hugely successful solo project ‘SLASH featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators’. Slash has amassed album sales in excess of 100-million copies, a Grammy award, seven Grammy nominations and countless other accolades. He has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame directly in front of the Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard.

Fellow band mates Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke will join Slash on stage in SA, with Duff McKagan joining the group for the Cape Town leg of the tour.  Californian Matt Sorum, who is the creative force behind Kings of Chaos, is described as speaking through his drums. Whether it’s the epic percussive backdrop to Guns n Roses’ Knocking on Heaven’s Door or the punked-out beat fuelling Velvet Revolver’s Dirty Little Thing, Sorum’s drumming goes beyond his kit. In 2012 he was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame along with band mates Slash and Duff.

Guitarist, musician, songwriter and record producer Gilby Clarke from Cleveland Ohio is well known as the rhythm guitarist from Guns n Roses. Since leaving the band he has forged a highly successful solo career which included playing guitar in band mate Slash’s Snakepit and forming his own group Rock Star Supernova with members of Metallica and Mötley Crüe.

Seattle-born Duff McKagan is the fourth member from Guns n Roses who is touring to South Africa, although he will only perform in Cape Town. The talented bass guitarist also performs rhythm guitar and lead vocals for hard rock band Loaded, and played bass with Slash and Matt Sorum in Velvet Revolver before joining Jane’s Addiction for a short while in 2010.  The iconic rock superstar, who lent his name to the beer used in ‘The Simpsons’, is now a bestselling author and also writes a financial column for Playboy.com. He was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, along with the rest of his Guns n Roses band mates.

Joe Elliott, the British lead vocalist and occasional rhythm guitarist of iconic rock band Def Leppard needs little introduction to South African audiences. The singer, songwriter and musician is one of the two original founding members of the band and one of only three to perform on every Def Leppard album, over 100 million of which have been sold to date.  In 2012 Joe first went on tour with Matt Sorum as part of his Rock n Roll All Stars and is now a core member of Kings of Chaos.

British bands Deep Purple is often referred to as the pioneers of modern hard rock, and were once listed in the 1975 Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s “loudest band”. The band has sold over 100-million albums worldwide and one time Deep Purple’s lead singer, Glenn “The Voice of Rock” Hughes distinctive vocals once led Stevie Wonder to proclaim Hughes to be his “favourite white singer”.  In 2010, Glen started recording and touring with a new supergroup Black Country Communion, and in 2013 produced the band’s third album. He too is a core member of Kings of Chaos.

Ed Roland is the founding member of rock band Collective Soul, which has sold over 10-million albums in its two-decade history and continues to sell out venues around the world.  Collective Soul has achieved numerous radio hits and gold and platinum albums on which Roland is often the primary writer and producer.  As a BMI Award winning songwriter, Roland has charted seven number one singles on Rock Radio with hits such as Gel, Better Now, Shine, and many more. More recently the band’s song Tremble My Beloved was featured in the hit movie Twilight and its multi-platinum soundtrack.  Roland has been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

In 2009 Guitar Magazine named Dave Kushner as one of the 50 greatest unsung guitar heroes ever.  Kushner has performed rhythm guitar alongside Slash in hard rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, as well as Wasted Youth and Jane’s Addiction. In addition to playing guitar in rock groups he also writes and composes music for films and television, and received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Main Title Theme music for his song This Life, the theme for FX series Sons of Anarchy.

Collectively, these artists have sold in excess of 300 million albums worldwide and together, they have penned many of the most defining rock anthems of all time. In Kings of Chaos they will perform some of their greatest hit songs in a two hour Rock n Roll Master Class!

Shows start at 20h00 and tickets are available from Computicket at between R375 and R700 for GrandWest and R375 – R560 for Sun City.
