The Old Mutual Music in the Gardens concert series is putting on a unique, one of a kind musical extravaganza in what is to be a day of celebration and song for young and old on Mother’s Day.
Accompanied by talented songstress Karlien van Jaarsveld and opening act Jacques Du Plessis, Afrikaans music superstar Chris Chameleon will bring his irresistible stage personality and reputation for mesmering audiences with his four-octave voice and vocal acrobatics that have won him numerous awards including two South African Music Awards (SAMAs) to this special and warm occasion.
Platinum selling artist Karlien van Jaarsveld has wowed crowds since deciding to go solo in 2008. She worked as a guitarist and backing vocalist to well known younger brother Bobby van Jaarsveld before branching out on her own. Her multi-award winning debut album reached platinum selling status and confirmed her status as a major force in the Afrikaans music scene.
Jacques du Plessis (also known as The Jackal from Mr. Cat and the Jackal) will bring his trademark sound which has been described as experimental, acoustic, alternative blues with a dash of folk. His music is eclectic and its authenticity is beyond doubt. Those in attendance should look forward to a refreshingly upbeat and exceptionally catchy sound.
To make this concert even more special, 10 lucky mothers will receive picnic baskets, each valued at R500. Fans attending the concert are encouraged to post special messages about their mothers on our social media pages to stand a chance to win the picnic baskets.

The Old Mutual Music in the Gardens offers lovers of music and the outdoors a fresh new live concert every two weeks. This winter’s shows at the Pretoria Botanical Garden are an extension of their sponsorship of the famous Kirstenbosch Music series in Cape Town.
Surrounded by the natural beauty of the botanical gardens, music lovers are encouraged to come early, bring picnic chairs and blankets and spend the day in natural splendour. There is a restaurant at the venue, alcohol is available to purchase and there is a supervised kid's area.
